A host of activities will take place throughout October to celebrate the Family Learning Festival.

Bolton Council has joined forces with Bolton Community College to put on events at Bolton Museum, Aquarium and Archive, Hall i’ th’ Wood and Smithills museums and the town’s libraries.

From fishy tales in the aquarium for pre-school children to science fun in Central Library, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

The Family Learning Festival is a national scheme aimed at getting families together for fun, informal learning activities.

The festival runs nationally from October 17 to 31. However, Bolton’s activities run throughout the whole month.

During the festival, families will be asked to help find out what Bolton’s favourite nursery rhyme is and encouraged to vote in their local library by posting their choice in the special ballot boxes.
