The museum decorative art collection coontains around 100 contemporary ceramics dating from the 1970s to mid 1990s. There are also contemporary craft objects including several pieces of glass and several ceramics, including a commission of a piece for the museum by David Cleverly.

The museum also has a collection of about 150 netsuke, inro  and scent bottles which were bequeathed to the museum  in 1959.
